processor usage ramped up

When I watch chess.com TV broadcasts through livestream (and other broadcasts through livestream) the cpu usage on my computer ramps up to 100%.  It wasn't that way in the past.  Is there a way to fix the problem?

You could start by telling us your OS/version, what type of CPU you have, how much RAM, your browser version and what type of internet connection you have and by running diagnostics on your PC (or is it a MAC?) to see if your CPU or RAM is starting to crap out. You could also try posting this question at sites that specifically deal with PC hardware/software problems. Run a program called Hijack This (it's free) while this problem occurs and keep the log handy because this is a more complete list of everything going on than Windows Task Manager provides. And make sure you've scanned everything in your PC for viruses and malware ASAP with an up-to-date anti-virus program. If you aren't using Avira, AVG or Avast anti-virus program (all free) start doing so now and only use one anti-virus program 2 or more may intefere with each other and slow down your PC.

Welcome to the wonderful(?) world of PC trouble-shooting...

If you're really up for doing all this crap send me a message and I'll at least steer you to a tech site for assistance in case I don't have a clue, which is my usual state of affairs.
