I'm not sure if there's an exact deadline for time-outs to occur, you should ask the staff about that.
Quirks in turn-based time remaining
I've just won a game Jan.31 8:am due to my opponent timing out he spent all his vac.time so our 2nd game started w/him as white w/c should already have expired today 2/3 at about 8 am. when i checked this a.m. he has 2days 21 hrs. rem. when in fact yesteday he only has 13 hrs. so obviously something is wrong.
I've been experiencing several lost games in live where my clock is still ticking with time on it as I make a move in 2/1 games. Thus time should be added back on as the move is made.
However, on my last move while obvious time shows on clock I drop my piece and the piece returns to it's originating square and time runs out???
With time still on the clock why would the piece return to it's originating square???
The sad part is that in several games I had mate or a winning move on that turn.
There's also often a mis-match between the time shown on my profile page and the time shown on the actual game page, and it's not just a matter of rounding or refreshing the pages. Time on a chess.com correspondence game is sort of like a soccer ref keeping time-- only the ref knows the real time, and everyone else just knows approximately when the game wil end.
I'll sell it to you - cheap! But act now, this deal won't be around for long!

I've definitely noticed the "time remaining" in my turn-based games doesn't seem to be 100% consistent ie for example occasionally a game will have 9 hrs left and after I leave it for a few minutes and go back to the game or to my home page now there are 10 hrs left...has anyone else noticed any inconsistencies in how much time is remaining in their turn-based games?
Maybe I should move my PC out of the laboratory?
