randomly abandoned/ resigned

I don’t play much games anymore since last time I played, the chess.com app automatically closed itself and resigned the game for me. And then the next few days it kept happening but it didn’t resign for me, though I cannot get back on the game and it counted as “abandoned”. I got banned for several days for that. What was happening?
