No, the website has not changed how you are rated. I am not sure why you had this random rating change without any games completed. However, if you see this happen more than once we do ask that you please report this as a bug at Help & Support

I wish that bug hits me too!! If one bug adds up 40, what would a few of them do?
My ratings just gone up about 40 points for no reason... check out my profile, and after winning my last game, my rating was 1569, but now all of a sudden its 1602 with no further games having been completed??? Has the site changed how you are rated or something?
