Really serious dropped connection problems

A few days ago, I started dropping connections - during literally every game. Sometimes it happens within 15 seconds of starting a game, sometimes toward the end (I've been playing 2 1 lightning). 

I have a MacBookPro, fully updated. I see the problem on multiple browsers (Chrome and Safari), so it's not browser-specific — and importantly, I have different extensions installed on those two browsers, so I feel like it's unlikely to be an extension issue. 

What can cause this? Chess.com has become unusable for me, and I'm worried that my sportsmanship rating might fall because of the DCs. Please help!

Just tried my PC on the same router, and the problem doesn't reproduce - so, there's something running on my Mac that causes my chess.com connection to drop? Really puzzled here.

I just manually killed the "NordLynx" process, which had been running even though I don't have the NordVPN app running, and it seems to have temporarily solved the problem
