Reappearing messages

This morning, I had 4 messages, 2 from clubs, 1 from chess.com and 1 from a friend. I checked them and they’re gone. I go back to the home page and see 4 more messages. The same ones I just read. I went to another page, then back. The same thing. Any reason why? Also for more context, I’m on the app.

There's some notifications slowness today, both in receipt and clearing. They should go away soon
