Refund

Hello, I have a question, I started the free trial for diamond membership, I thought the renewal would be monthy, but it was yearly. So it took 70 euros from my credit card, that is way too much for me. I contacted support, they responded, after I asked for refund they didnt respond for couple of days. After that my account got closed for violating fair play policy, at the time I was playing chess with my friend besides me (I didnt know that was not allowed), he suggested a couple of moves, after the game, my account got closed. My question is, is there a way a can get refund considering the closure of my chess com account?

I know it looks bad, but my question is if I can get a refund considering I applied for it before the incident in those games?

I believe the free trial is only if you want to actually buy premium after, is it not?

Also what does the closure have to do with it? I see you have premium on this account too. Did you buy it again?

Hmm. I believe the policy is that they don't give refunds to people whose accounts are closed for Fair Play. It is an interesting question you raise however about the timing of your refund request preceding your violation of the rules. I don't know how often that has happened.

Did you get charged again for the new account?

Nope, chess.com gives you option to transfer the premium membership to the newly made account because the closure of the account is the first offence I think. But yeah, the timing of the request gives me hope of a refund. As I stated, yearly subscription is too much for me, I would rather pay the monthly subscription instead.

They don't cost the same. The annual payment is equal to seven monthly payments. By paying annually, you save a lot over the combined monthly payments.

In the US, the annual payment is $120.

The monthly payment is $17. 12*$17=$194.

Surely the concept of a discount for buying a larger quantity of something is common across the world.

So, what is the conclusion? Do you think Im liable for the refund? Do you have any advice on what should I do?

Interesting. Why would you not just get the cheaper one then?

I don't know the particulars of your situation.

But chess.com has always been good about honoring its 30 days first time money back policy.
