Yup.

Easily able to be turned into spam
As posted in post #1: Spam is any post that is advertising goods or services in multiple threads.
If it isn't that, it really shouldn't be posted here.
I would like to report the situation that is currently happening on the Chess960 and Other Variants forum.
For over two years now, people have been perpetuating series of threads dedicated to playing chess variant games. That doesn't seem too bad, until you realise that this has come to a point where nearly two thirds of the first page are filled up with these threads that 1) (arguably) violate chess.com ToS, and 2) violate the primary function of a public internet forum - a place where anyone is free to spread information through the medium of posted messages. As much as I understand their intent and purpose, and as much as I think these are good people, these threads unfortunately congest discussion and keep the diversity of opinion very limited. Any thread that is not about a particular subject pertaining to their list of interests is for the most part ignored, and pushed down by the torrent of updated threads.
I went on a rant about them a couple of weeks ago, a few participators left me their comments on the situation and what to do, I appreciate that; there was a moderator, @MGleason, who posted a couple of weeks ago offering a solution to the users: use clubs. Seems simple enough.
However, it has been two/three weeks since then, and what has changed...?
It will become very apparent to you when you browse the forum that one user (I will not name for sake of respect) is the biggest advocate of these threads. This user does not recognise that there is a problem, does not listen to reason, and does not recognise that this problem is being exacerbated mostly by himself. This user has since blocked me, fair enough, he has the right to do so.
Is this part of some greater piggyback marketing scheme? I can't say. But I will say that this is a problem that desperately needs solving. No-one has room to talk about chess variants offered by chess.com, only a very specific list of ad-hoc variants that use extra pieces.

The moderators have discussed this issue recently, and Chess.com management is okay with games of individual variants being played out in that forum category. The moderators are therefore not going to force people into clubs to play them out.
This forum has a lot of abuse. https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/a-game-i-did-win-for-a-woman-i-did-know Also there is a lot of attacks on comment 5 or 6 or 4 or 7, but the 1st comment and some others just start a flame war
https://www.chess.com/forum/view/off-topic/will-the-mods-let-us-spam-here?page=17#last_comment Comment 321 or 322 or 321 have a bad word for a reply of a quote .
[handled but as listed in the very 1st post, this is for spam only. Please open a ticket for anything else: https://support.chess.com/customer/portal/emails/new -- VP]

[got them, thanks -- VP]
Is “the secret of chess” considered spam?
[It's about a chess book and there's some reasonable discussion in it, so no, we don't consider that spam - David]
So commercializing is legal in Chess.com?
Not sure what you mean by "commercializing", but Chess.com is okay with people advertising a chess related product once or twice, unless it's an alternate site to play chess at. If it's not chess related, the mods will look at it more closely and make a determination.
It's okay for people to create a thread advertising their chess Twitch stream, for example. It's also okay for them to bump that thread every so often if there's something new or coming up they want to tell people about. It's not okay to post about it in multiple threads over and over.
@david, On the bus thread has spamming and bad language... I have been trying to stop it and get help but It didn’t work... please help.
David, I don't see any bad language. In fact, I don't see anything that's worth your attention. https://www.chess.com/forum/view/off-topic/on-the-bus-1?page=18 This guy created 5 threads in General Discussion that make no sense. https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/pp
[Deleted the one that had mild bad language, but the others seemed to be just rants. David]
Please delete this thread;
