Resign? Just kidding...

I was playing a blitz game today and we reached the same position 3 times when I was losing. I was low on time also. I tried to hit the draw button as fast as I could but instead ended up losing by "resignation"... it used to have a message that said something like "Are you sure you want to resign?", now it doesn't. I'm honestly quite angry D=

Maybe in the next version this would be something to consider?

Thanks,

but do you think your opponent would want to draw when he saw he/she was winning! lol

You should really read a post before commenting on it. I said that I accidentally hit the resign button when a position had occurred 3 times. If I'd hit the "Offer Draw" button it would've been a draw by default. I'm saying it might be a good idea if there was a preventative installed so that it  isn't so easy to hit the resign button instead of the "Offer Draw" button in time pressure.

I know this is like, an uber bump... but it's still an issue for me. Either the "Offer Draw" button and the "Resign" button should be way further apart, or you guys should otherwise fix this problem.

Shouldn't it the server automatically declare it a draw after triple repetition? If it doesn't then that is something that needs to be fixed in the next update.

You're making valid points, KnightShifteron both counts:

  • there should be a confirmation step (Online Chess has one)
  • the buttons are precariously juxtaposed.

This doesn't occur automatically in Online Chess either: it has to be claimed. However, the OFFER DRAW button changes to a CLAIM DRAW (in Online Chess anyway), so it should be fairly easy to notice.

None the less, i think triple repetition should be automatically enforced. Most ICSs (internet chess servers) do it that way.

According to FIDE Laws of Chess, this draw should be claimed ...

10.10

The game is drawn, upon a claim by the player having the move, when the same position, for the third time:

Yeah, well, this is a one minute bullet game, not a FIDE regulated tournament. In a one minute bullet game, I don't want to worry about the legitimacy of the game as far as FIDE rules.
