Seeing other players' votes in vote chess

The text below is copied from a help file. I marked the part involving my question in bold. The question is, why can you see your team's other players' votes in some games before you vote yourself, but not in others? Is it maybe set by the group admin who starts the game? And how can you tell which case is in effect, besides just trying to look?

" How do I play Vote Chess?

To play Vote Chess simply go to the game you want to play while you are logged in and you will automatically be assigned to a team! You can join a game at any point during the game. Once you are assigned a team you can then make your move and submit it to the voting. Once time is up moves are tallied up and the move is made. You can discuss the entire game in the PUBLIC forum. It is OK to discuss opening lines found in game databases (including win/draw/loss statistics) and strategies for using opening databases in TEAM forums.

Additionally, in some games the other votes will be shown BEFORE you make a move, and in other games you will not see the other votes until AFTER you have moved.

Does this answer your question? "

I think they don't let you see the other team's votes because someone from the other group might see them and plan what to do in the next move. I am not sure but I think this is the answer.

Thank you, dragonite234, but I do mean seeing the other votes from your own team, not the other team. The games that I have played don't even show that until I finished made my own vote.

Sorry to resurrect and old post but this is a continuing question.  When you try to see moves in a vote chess game it says this game does not allow it implying some do - but I have not seen any settings that would allow it when creating a vote chess match and neither has anyone I have asked.  Can someone take a moment to educate me on where this setting is?  Our team is frustrated by not seeing our own votes until we vote.   If this is not available PLEASE add this and preferably make it default.

Classic logical mistake. If an I statement (some S are P) is true, that does not imply an O statement (some S are not P) with the same terms is also true. An example of this would be the statement "All dogs are canines" (an A statement). This statement implies the statement "Some dogs are canines" (an I statement) to be true by subimplication. The statement "All dogs are canines" also implies the statement "Some dogs are not canines" (an O statement)  to be false by contradiction. Obviously, if an I statement is true, it does not necessarily imply that an O statement with the same terms is true.

While I did find your post humorous and certainly more interesting and refreshing than the usual do also review the original post in this thread that explicitly refers to both states being possible states - but neither the OP nor I could find any evidence of this and sadly this has been an issue for several years.  Unclear to me why chess.com position appears to be this is a good thing.

I really would like to know if this is possible or not, and if not, would request chess.com reconsider.

Vote chess is meant to be collaborative - it isn't guess the move.  While we all work around this by our discussion of each move, seeing the votes would help reinforce it.  Furthermore I would take it a step further than players should be able to CHANGE their votes up to the deadline.  Why are players locked into a move - if the group has further discussion and determines a better move is available why can't team mates change their votes?  Or at least make that an option.  This would reduce risk of time-out if teams were able to vote earlier and have the votes reflect the evolving judgement of the team.

Have you messaged Chess.com support?

I did resend the suggestion with a screen shot today - fingers crossed

I had the same question. I have seen open-poll games, so it's definitely a thing, but I can't find any setting for it...

Magnus Carlsen vs The World match uses open-poll. I strongly suspect the match with Viswanathan "Vishy" Anand during Sept-Nov 2024 did too.

(I haven't been able to find a vote chess game setting for that either.)
