I'm in SouthEast Asia rn. I've been watching youtube videos in 4k with no bufferings alright. The funny thing is when I play chess.com, each moves take away 3+ seconds or even 10 seconds. Even when I premove it's 5 seconds sometimes. This is crazy. I remember back then like 2016-2017, each players timer with not roll until they "recieve" the opponent's move. Now it got worsen by chess.com delibrately changing it to "make a move" to start opponent's timer.

The site allows a certain amount of lag that is forgiven

Some things you can do to minimize issues, though not all lag is solvable.
