should “Looking for a girlfriend/boyfriend” threads lead to consequences?

I feel like anyone who does those sorts of things are either a sexual predator or someone who is too young to have their account verified. Also, this is a chess website, not a dating website. It’s different when it’s in one of those “the person above you” threads, for those aren’t serious. However, people who are seriously looking for a partner on a chess website most likely do not have good intentions. This is just a suggestion, but this keeps happening every so often, and it’s just unfortunate that the community entertains them by posting on their threads so much.

I’m saying this as someone who is concerned about the naive members of the community who don’t have a sense of danger on this platform

I've been seeing very inappropriate posts lately on for example I think it was inprovers or chess.com beta.

I remember that you bumped the "Will you date the person above you thread" after it was dead for 19 days...

If people don't want to talk to a certain individual because he/she has those intents, then this person can block them and not talk to them. It's really that simple. Given that you have to be 13 to be here, I would expect for people to show at least a bit of maturity in that regard.

I agree that it’s weird and probably shouldn’t be, but I would differ in that you cannot be certain who the “daters” are or how old they are.

Like really getting a gf/bf from the site? Scary.
