Some kind of glitch?

Was playing puzzle battle. I was solving my puzzles and I noticed that my opponent hadn't solved any. I thought maybe he disconnected or left so I continued. I was stuck on a puzzles and then I noticed the time ran out but strangely it let me continue the puzzle. I got it wrong and then I got to do 2 more puzzles... I got all 3 wrong so I thought it would declare the winner but it didn't. Never experienced this before. I waited for a few min but nothing happened :/

Anyone know what's wrong?

... maybe they didn't do anything so it was declared void? I don't know/
