Strange Popup

I just had a strange popup appear on chess.com.  It was a very generic, plain window that said, in effect, "A script is attempting to remove you from this site.  If you do not want to be removed click OK."

Naturally I didn't click OK, but aborted Explorer 8.

Has anyone else encountered this popup?

Is anyone else even using Explorer?  Wink

I'm not... to the OP, try Chrome or Firefox, they are faster, and generally more secure.

I use Explorer simply as a public service to detect malware for the poor dupes that use Explorer.

I use explorer,there was no problem until now.

@qixel - Nice.  :)

@bgianis - Does that mean you too are seeing the popup about a script trying to remove you from the site?

Every time I log in on this site from work, ( using Explorer) I get at least one annoying popup , sometimes it's difficult to get rid of.

People still use graphical browsers? Try a text only browser such as Lynx. Far more secure and has zero popups.

If you try chrome, then you can download a pop-up blocker which works on chess.com and it is faster than IE

Chrome...all the way chrome!

Many people can only use IE on their work PC's.  Its amazing the amount of man hours spent by computer security people trying to get rid of other browsers across their domain.  Some companies only allow their employees to use IE 6 and they aren't allowed to upgrade because it hasn't been approved.

If you want to use chrome at work then you can download it onto your pen drive and then use it at work.It works I have tried it

Can't say I've had a popup using explorer since I became a member.
