Suggested Moves

Lots of players now started using suggested moves in the games without any intimation to the opponent. This allows such players to make multiple moves within a second thus giving unfair advantage in a game and making it impossible for anyone not using it to win tight games on time

My suggestion - not allow usage of suggested moves in a game if both players are not using it

Warning to the opponent if a player starts using the suggested moves option in a game without intimation

There's no such thing as suggested moves. There are premoves in live games and conditional moves in daily.

In either case, it's highly unlikely they're will ever be a setting added that would prevent members without premoves from being paired with those with them enabled or a setting to disallow conditional moves.

Are you suggesting no options here??

Let me ask to all in general, how would anyone like to loose a game because of this pre/conditional moves feature

The player is still making the moves in the game.

correct however this can be called plagiarism which is forbidden in game of chess

No, that's not accurate.

Not really sure how this is falling within the laws of chess, further more it allows the player to gain unfair advantage by circumventing the time constraint. If someone is weak or new and wants support then he/she can attend training but allowing aid in making multiple advance moves which plays out 0.1/sec in real time is making a mockery of this wonderful game

There are risks with premoves as they are always played, no matter what your opponent does, unless the move would be illegal. It's a feature of online Chess and the players are still choosing the moves to make.

Ok premoves feature is not adhering to any chess rules. As the way it is, the only use is to give unfair advantage to player using it. My concern is whether there are any risks or not for the player using it, let's have a warning mechanism to the opponent that premoves is being used

Simple enough!!! or completely remove it from the option all together as it does not aid in building your chess game stronger

The only advantage is a small amount of time saved. Potentially. It's still possible to make actual moves as fast as premoves.

That said, the feature won't be removed. It's also highly unlikely there will ever be a setting to not pair with members that have premoves enabled.

chesskid_321

Nay... try to make 10 moves in a sec i.e. 0.1 sec per move this is simply not possible

I would question the utility and validity of such feature other than allowing few weak players some unfair advantage to win matches they don't deserve. Lately I have seen significant increase in the percentage of players using it in tight games which defeats the very purpose of playing chess

Now I'm not sure about the statement 'the feature wont be removed'

is it official statement of chess.com??

is it somehow linked to the revenue model?? if yes then it is highly unfortunate

Martin_Stahl

Pretty much every strong player uses premoves and the stronger the player the more likely and more often they use them.

I'm not giving an official statement but one based on understanding how the site (and online chess in general) works and previous statements made by staff around the feature.

Ok let me put it in this way

Does FIDE approves this feature to be used in a game??

The blog clearly endorses my point - "Chess is a game played with the clock, and you have limited time to win those games, or suffer the consequences of not being able to do so"
