Suspicious?

The 6th Chess.com Thematic Tournament - Gruenfeld (<1000) - Round 1 started yesterday, yet rricey has one two games already. Reasons for suspiscion:

  • Both games were against the same person (randomperson1)
  • Both games randomperson1 resigned without moving
  • rricey has not won any other game
  • randomperson1 has not resigned any other game

It is very unlikely this is a coincidence. Could any staff member investigate this?

Here is a link to the tournament: http://www.chess.com/tournaments/pairings.html?id=17855&round=1

Thanks. I've investigated this. Its not suspicious. One thing to remember, members who don't understand thematic games think something is wrong with their game and will sometimes resign before contacting support to ask what was wrong and how come moves had already been made in their game.

Yeah, this happens a lot.  It's not unusual at all.

I know I am the cynical type, but he resigned for games only against rricey (just saying).

But I trust you, so I'll leave it at that. Thanks for your help (Niven42 too).

He's been a member 2 days and has already finished 46 online chess games, losing 45 and winning one?! Madness what some people get themselves into, 122 games in progress, too! Chess is too addictive :(

We got a very quick response from "staff" there...that was great...

...now how about a quick response to yesterday's suspicion?

Someone wrote that he looked at chess.com's #1 player...his games were following 100% Rybka best moves???  how could this be humanly possible...not even Kasparov can do this...because computers and humans "think" diferently.

Thats being looked into aswell

bondiggity

I just looked at that player's best win. If that isn't a computer assisted player, then I guess I just don't know what is.

Please don't turn this thread into a cheating topic. The OP's question was answered.

Amateur, this has happened before, most likely randomperson didn't want to play this person, (i used to do this) or he didn't have any time to play this person, or even the tournament.
