I raised this issue in a related forum topic several months ago. I'm still having the same issue as EskimoJack. Is this being addressed?
Tactics Trainer Problem Difficulty

Thought I would see if matters had improved, well no, I cannot post a comment now, it just skips to the next problem.
Still freezes on occassions, however the Algorithm selecting problems seems OK now.
Pity I like TT

The Problem is getting worse for me : not even 1 Higher Rated or even same Rating Problem Now ( used to get a few at the begining of each session ,earlier ),no matter how many I do or when I do them .. n' the Rating of the Problems r getting even lower ,only 800-990 Rated Problems .
I also get Occassional Freezing .

Most of my Tactics are lower then my rating too. I dont know why it is, but I see many people hate this problem. So I think they made it cos more people will buy premium so u can change your tactics rating range. " I think " its all about money

Hung on me again and would not show he solution, also getting a string of problems rated 100 points below my rating.

Hey. Click through analysis has arrived! I was just checking through some comments and I clicked on Analysis and Source and there it was. You can just click through the moves now instead of having to move the pieces yourself.

I cleared my Cache n' Cookies recently n' the Freezing Problem ( normally after my first or second Move ) seems to have disappeared .
Maybe u can try doing this too . ( might or might not work for u,I don't know )

you took double the average time to solve a problem that was 200 points lower than your rating. I think it's fair you lose points.

To be exact I think you should question the scoring system rather than the rating system. I think the rating system (glicko) is good while the scoring system (the percentage you get after each problem which the ratings will be based on) is not very good.
I think it's quite reasonable that you get +1 when you score 57% and that you get -23 when you score 20%.
However I don't think it is reasonable that you can score 57% when you only get 2/3 moves correct (in my oppinion you should always score 0% when you don't get all moves correct).

Here's something you might find interesting. Below are the top players in the TT rankings (Everyone over 3100). Take a look at the success rate column. See how it varies! The 2nd place guy gets less than half of them right and the 3rd place guy hardly misses one. 1random seems to be a bullet specialist. FM Michael_C_Foster doesn't play chess on this site at all, but we can assume he specialises in standard chess. ORB73 hasn't played much on this site but what he has played was mostly bullet and his bullet rating is over 2900!
I don't know what to conclude from this. Probably that there is more than one way to do well at TT. Either get them all right or do them very quickly and get a lot wrong. Or do something in between. All seem to work.

We're trying to figure out this issue right now - but it's tricky to reproduce! Can you tell me what you're using for OS and browser? Are you running any sort of "web-shield" antivirus software? Thanks.

Ok, we've got this fixed! (The issue was caused by clicking on the board *after* making your move.) Good stuff!
EskimoJack. Excellent data. Expresses the problem perfectly. I hope Erik is still monitoring this thread.
