taking back a move live chess

I was playing live chess, 20 minutes per side, and I was in an endgame with a pawn advantage and so good chances to win, against a player 100 ratings higher than me. My hand slipped on the mouse as I was moving and I left my queen hanging. Naturally, my opponent took it very quickly, before I had time to explain my error. He tried to take back the move but neither of us knew how to do so. Is it possible?

I do not believe that it is possible to take back a move in live chess.  The only thing to do is be careful when you move. (I do not like it, but that is how it is)Cry

tks Vman. I thought so, but anyway!

In over the board chess, it is very clear that once you take your hand off a piece, you cannot take it back, but a handslip on a mouse can happen inadvertantly quite easily.

oh well, live and learn
