The picture is a reference to witches being hanged - we are playing "Bulldog chess with witch".
I was looking for some plausible explanation for why the image was removed. That's all. It's not a bid deal. I have no plans to stop playing chess at chess.com.
we are playing "Bulldog chess with witch".
Of course you were, it all makes perfect sense now.

Now that you know, you should remove it quickly.
Reposting items that have been removed is a really asking for it.

how come nobody believes me whenever I say that?

Will I get hanged too?
Lol. They wouldn't mute or ban vickalan. He's too valuable a member. He pretty much runs the variants section of the forums.
I reposted it. The first occurrence of the image now mentions that it is in the public domain because the copyright expired. If that's the reason it was removed originally I understand chess.com's POV.
I also saw a very long thread of "chess art" disappear from these forums, and it might have been for the same reason.
@vickalan You know this actually happened which makes it even more offensive, show some respect, you've already been warned to remove it, it still exists in your https://www.chess.com/forum/view/chess960-chess-variants/looking-for-opponents-games?page=3
So please remove it from this #1, it has no place on Help & Support, if it's still here when I check back shortly I'll have no option but to report.
You've already been given a chance!
[Update] I reported this on July 26 & the response was "We’ll review, and remove any images we find as too graphic for our site".
Unfortunately hanging is a common form of suicide, so this would be particularly distressing for any member that has lost a loved one in this way, if you cared about this then you would at least remove it from this Help & Support section here on your #1.
I personally havent lost anyone this way, but my ex who lost her brother has.
(Aug 16): I'm sending you a copy of this #11 to make sure you get this message, please do the right thing & remove it from your #1 here: https://www.chess.com/forum/view/help-support/text-and-images-removed-by-moderators-with-no-reason-given?page=1#last_comment

I don't play variants often but often see posts made here asserting that it is very difficult to find games. How popular do you think that the variants really are?
Right now, there are only 4 variants games going on in Live Chess.
He seems to have a fixation on killing people for religious purposes. The picture and his profile pic are indicative of a disturbed personality.
I agree with Brendon, its offensive and not very pleasant. It doesn't portray the site in a good light.
Two hours later there are only 2 variant games being played. Out of the 64,569 players now online, only 4 are playing variants.
Are you counting the Bulldog with Witch, Bulldog with Dwarf, Chess on an Infinite plane and all the other variants in the variants forum?
In one of our threads for setting up games (like here), I posted some text with an image such as this:
The text and image were removed by a moderator, with no reason given.
Is this because there might have been a copyright concern?
Or is this considered too graphic for chess.com?
In the case of a copyright concern, this image is from England's Grievance Discovered in Relation to the Coal Trade, 1655, and is in the public domain because its copyright has expired. But I understand moderators don't have to check this type of stuff. If I posted the image showing the copyright has expired, could the image have remained?
