The effect of unbanning someone from a group

When a player is banned from a group, and then unbanned, does that person have to reapply to the group to participate in group activities, or are they automatically reinstated?

knightspawn5

Not really sure. Never had that happen in any group I belong to...

blackfirestorm

When a player is banned then reinstated they are no longer able to participate in the vote chess games that they were active in previously cuz its like the player has been removed.

They can still post in the notes and join in team matches though

rigamagician

Do they have to rejoin the group in order to post in the Group Notes and forum threads?  Or as soon as you unban them, are they reinstated as a member?

blackfirestorm

If they are banned then removed from the group yes they need to rejoin the group but if they are just banned then unbanned as far as I am aware they don't need to rejoin

rigamagician

That's interesting.  That's different from how Yahoo Groups does it.  There if you unban someone, they have to rejoin the group.

blackfirestorm

Oh I have no idea I have never joined any yahoo groups :)

rigamagician

wormrose reports that unbanning does indeed reinstate a person in the group.

Believe they are reinstated when you go to Members and unban them.

yes you have to rejoin to participate and how do you unban members (not from groups or anything, just normally)

knightspawn5

No, they are stiil in the group, they aren't deleted from the group.  It take them out of the vote chess games.  Once unbanned, they can now post notes, join new vote chess games, play in matches and do all the thing that every member can do.
