The vertical percentage bar disappears

On my large PC, the vertical bar that displays the percentage, on the left of the board is always visible, however, on the smaller screen laptop, when I click 'play" the bar goes off the screen and I don't know why or how to get it back on the screen. Please help. Thanks.
