Time warnings in “settings”

The last two toggles in settings are for warnings that time is short. They don’t do anything on my iPhone or iPad. What gives?

I am not sure because I don't use IOS but this thread had a couple of suggestions-- https://www.chess.com/forum/view/help-support/no-sound-ios-app
