Timer cheat ?

Hey guys, just played a 3 min game with a user named Kidq***** and I had more time than he did, but his timer when it hit zero, instead of saying that I won and that he ran out of time, it kept relooping to an extra 1 second every time on his turn till I ran out of time and he won. How is that poss
