Tournament scoring

It does not matter which player beats which player. The factor which matters is the player to have the best score in the group as that player will be the one to advance to the next round.

So in this case the 9-2-1 would advance on to the next round as they have the best score out of the three players.

I think I see the weird point that second place only won 7 games when he himself won 1 more game!

It could be the tiebreak then. What Patzer 24 said about a player beating who doesn't matter, actually, does! Beating the top player in the group who has won a massive amount of game will give you lots of tiebreak. Try to beat him twice, and your tiebreak doubles.

Like to understand how scoring works. i finished a tourny in third place with a 8-4 record. second 7-5 and first 9-2-1. i beat second place twice, lost both to first place. second place beat 1st once.

Any help.

The score shown in standings includes preliminary rounds. The score that matters is the one from the final round.

fyi - a link in the original post would have been helpful
