Tracking?

If I visit someone's blog and I check the box that says "Notify me of new comments" the text changes to "Now Tracking". So, naturally, I expect this blog to end up in the list of "My Tracked Activity" on "My Home". But, it doesn't.

Is there some other way I can see a list of blogs that I am tracking? Is there some other way to 'bookmark' a blog that I want to come back to later?

From your homepage, right side menu options clicking on Account then on Alert & Email settings. Bottom of that page shows you a list of all those you are tracking.

Also in the settings tabs above that same page, allows you to turn on or off Auto Tracking so any threads or blogs you post in are automatically tracked, otherwise you have to do it manually.

When viewing a blog, there are now small box icons that appear at the top. Third one in allows you to bookmark the blog.

This shows me people I am tracking, but I would like to track a single blog entry.

Yes, I can bookmark any page on the internet in my browser's bookmarks, but I would like to be able to bookmark it through my chess.com account, not through my browser. For example, I may skim a blog during the day and want to read it later in the evening when I'm at a different computer.

My tracked activity shows if someone you're tracking posts anything new. New Comments section on your homepage should show if anyone posts a comment to the specific blog you're tracking.

Its not possible to bookmark a specific thread or blog any other way at the moment sorry.

It is possible to 'bookmark' a specific forum topic by clicking "Track this forum topic" just above the reply box. All such threads show up under the menu link Forums -> Topics I am Tracking.

It would be nice if this feature existed for blogs. Especially since it can be harder to track down a blog than a forum topic.

I stack them in my "Favorites". Same result.

Read my second paragraph in post #3, it's not the same result at all.

Interesting, I was looking for a way to do this tonight, and I see this request is from two years ago.

Kohai, or anyone else who is listening. Has there been a way devised for me to track blogs? I came across a few blogs today that I would like to read regularly, and it would be nice if I could be alerted when these people post a blog item, rather than bookmrking in my browser. Is there a way to do this?

One of two ways:

1. As soon as you friend someone they are on your 'Tracked Members' list (shown bottom half of this page http://www.chess.com/home/alerts

As soon as they post their content will appear on your homepage as 'new content'.

2. Go to the blog they have posted, and just like in the main forums here, top right of the text entry box it'll show Notify me of New Comments

As soon as you post in someone elses blog, the 'Notify me of new comments' box is auto checked. If you don't want that to happen, you can either un-check it after posting, or turn it off in your settings area here

http://www.chess.com/home/alerts

by un-checking the applicable options[s]

  • TRACKING: friends & people I track post new content
  • AUTO TRACKING: automatically track content that I comment on
  • COMMENTS: new comments on any of my content or content I am tracking
