Trying to Make an Alt, but Having Email Troubles

Hi, I'm going to have to go offline for summer before long. I'm trying to make another account so I can have it ready if I can't get back into my current one after summer break. I'm trying to use the same email for both accounts, and it's not working.

Is it possible that I can use the same email and it still work, or am I going to have to find a different email?

Accounts are required to have unique email addresses.

Also, alt accounts are only allowed with staff approval.

Should I be able to send the account verification email to the email of my current account after I change it for the alt., or does it have to be through the alt's email only?
