Indeed, "redesigns" rival root canals in the pleasure they bring.

Why would anyone complain?

in groups, why is it that we must scroll through topics to find those we started?

outside of groups, why must we go through the same painful procedure?

have i mentioned this previously? if not, please get on it. if so, a reminder.

why is it our job, as members, to tell you what is blatantly obvious? then, when i express concerns in this thread, i, a paying member, am told to use a new link to simply get functionality back where it was?

Go to your home page and make sure My Activity is chosen (if it is Following click the down arrow)

That will show any topics you started, in clubs or the forums, along with blog posts.

AlCzervik

where is my activity? i see vote chess and club activity where the alerts used to be, but no function for what you state.

Martin_Stahl

I'll screenshot it later but it's chess.com/home and the Activity section.

V3 is BS raised to the 3rd power.  Every week there's something else that gets mucked up.

WTF?  Why is so fricken' hard to simply look up the game records of someone you recently played?  Been there, done that, (just now), and I'm about 15 mouse clicks away for going postal.  What a fricken' pain in the arse.

Of course, there's always a work-around.  If you want to spend you life learning workarounds.

Such BS.  EASE OF USE SHOULD BE THE FIRST PRIORITY.  THEN EVERYONE WILL BE HAPPY TO BE TRACKED, CONTINUOUSLY.

It would be great if V3 was just abandoned, and the resources spent on fixing the few bugs that remain in V2. I'm serious.

thank you for not getting back to me on this.

it's ok. you used to be staff and now you may be frustrated with some things yourself.

for any staff member that is available, have any of the suggestions been implemented? discussed? i write about this again because i was directed to a new function in v3 months ago where i, we, were told to take our issues to a new feature.

my complaint at that time is the same as it is today. this is the h & s forum. many in this topic and others have voiced concerns. in what way is it easier for staff to receive individual issues as opposed to how you have done this previously?

i have a theory that staff has been fractured since the onset of v3. h & s used to be where members went for issues. where is staff now? is everyone on staff a programmer attempting to fix one or more problems?

it's ok to reply that you will look into the issue, investigate. i see none of that as i did in the past.

AlCzervik

tried to post a game. didn't work, so, i went to your help. here is what you still have-from 2007.

Never was staff, though I was a mod at one point, just forgot that I was going to post something and then the topic fell off my recent posts.

That is with the default Home page. Not sure if what it looks like if you opted for the Classic view but it should be similar.

That said, while staff do read the forums, these are mostly answered by regular members and moderators. If you really have an issue, opening a ticket is the way to guarantee staff can see your problem.

AlCzervik

in vote chess, how is it possible to see my team's comments from former moves? if i click on archive, only the move list appears.

martin, thank you. i just went through this topic and see that bilbo wrote almost the same thing, so, sorry for being redundant on that issue.

why is it i occasionally come across posts from only 20 minutes ago, and the member has the icon that shows, "closed: inactive"?

Because some members make accounts, post on the forums and close their accounts quickly. Probably just  a few people that do it over and over.

AlCzervik

thanks, martin, although, i'm sure how you can see how some could find it confusing.

Martin_Stahl

Seems pretty clear to me, though it is weird that people do it.

AlCzervik

i meant cc stating an account is inactive after they just posted.

But if the member closes the account shortly after posting, that's what it will say. Maybe using the term Inactive is the confusing part and that could be something else.

Why are so many clicks required to simply "look up" your opponent's game record?

Are these quirks another version one of the "bottom-less bowls," designed to keep our eyeballs on this site, or are they just one of MANY software issue to be revised later?  happy.png

Martin_Stahl

There is a link to the game archive in the user info popup on the forums. I would have to start a live game to see if it is there as well but it does exist in Daily. Click their name, then the Archive link. Or you could go the long way through their profile ....

AlCzervik

not a big issue, but it speaks to how messed up it can be from a user perspective.

as i'm writing this, i am in 11 point font. but, there is no 11 pt available if i click on that function on the bar above. this sucks if i copy/paste here, because cc's default is what was last entered. here is an example:

Three people check into a hotel room. The clerk says the bill is $30, so each guest pays $10. Later the clerk realizes the bill should only be $25. To rectify this, he gives the bellhop $5 to return to the guests. On the way to the room, the bellhop realizes that he cannot divide the money equally. As the guests didn't know the total of the revised bill, the bellhop decides to just give each guest $1 and keep $2 as a tip for himself. Each guest got $1 back, so now each guest only paid $9, bringing the total paid to $27. The bellhop has $2. And $27 + $2 = $29 so, if the guests originally handed over $30, what happened to the remaining $1?

so, i've just pasted this riddle, but the formatting does not allow me to go back to the 11 pt. this can be confusing when reading posts.

ms word has had functions for years where pasting is quite simple. cc programmers should know of this, no?

Crazychessplaya

No, not on this site.
