Virus scam within Chess.com app

Watch out for a virus scam within chess.com.  I just made a move and received a pop-up for an "Apple System Notice ... we detected 256 viruses..." directing me to click "OK" to solve the problems.  This right as Chess.com has introduced pop-up adds seems they have opened a door making the app less safe for malware.  Watch out for it, but also Chess.com tighten up your act.  The add pop-ups are a sad evolution while degrading your product.

Did you notice an ad right before that happened?

The site doesn't approve specific ads and sometimes a bad ad can baje it through and staff work on removing them if they occur

It was right after I submitted a move for a daily game and an ad had historically come up (i.e., my first move of the day completed always prompts an ad before I can go to my second game). It was not obvious it was an add as the image it displayed mirrored an iPhone home screen and attempted to convince me it was the operating system giving the message. I closed the ap and it was clear it was Chess.com. If chess.com is going to introduce ads and open the door to risk, it is chess.com responsibility to prevent their platform from being an unsafe means to spread malware.

That's not an acceptable type of ad and should be reported for staff to remove. I have referred your post to staff and they are trying to find the bad ad in the provider network.

I have an image of the ad if that helps, but I do not see a way to attached it here.

If you're on the app, there is no image option. You can do it through the website
