Virus?

 Hello,

I don't want to say something wrong here, but one of my computers was infected by a virus this morning and the only thing I was doing was playing live chess while I had left open ads from chess.com

I am 99% sure it comes from here since the only other open document on the computer was a word document I'm writing.

I may be wrong, but thought it was better to mention it here.

The virus is antimalware doctor. If it happenned to you too, visit:

have you removed the virus chess.com has had viruses in the past but they are gone now and I would make sure that the virus was removed or quarantined I would also delete your cookies and history so that it should not come back. another thing would be to check your firewall for any traffic that could be the virus trying to come back

erik

it is POSSIBLE that a virus came through an ad on the website (we work with dozens of ad providers and once in a LONG while they don't filter things strenuously enough). we recommend everyone run antivirus and antimalware coverage at all times because even the biggest sites (google, yahoo, techcrunch, new york times) can deliver malware via ads at time.

Hey, I got a virus this morning while having no applications other than ie8 with chess.com open. It called up a fake microsoft security essentials warning and tried to get me to download peak protection 2010 and other malware.

I'm not confident that this was from chess.com like the last one was, but giving a heads up.
