What are the rules on this app's games?

I just took an opponent's king with a rook, only after it was close enough even though a rook can go as far as it wants.
It also wouldn't let me move my bishop into a vulnerable piece, three of them that I could've taken for that matter, it would force me to move certain pieces.
And then after taking the king, the game continued anyway and I lost because the timer ran out.
What planet are the rules of chess here operating from exactly?

You can't take kings. As to the other move, what game and move number?
I solved that issue about the king but the moves are usually when I can prevent a check or other taking of a piece. For instance, in my last game a rook was able to take the king but put itself in the line of my bishop. But it wouldn't let me take the rook and was forcing me to move the king out of the way, when you should be allowed to move any piece that stops the check. My games keep losing because I set up the opponent in traps only to be stopped from moving pieces where they should be allowed to go.

Without seeing the game it's hard to say but if you were being checked by two pieces or the bishop couldn't move due to being pinned to the king, that would explain it. You can never make a move that exposes your king to check.
