What do the bars on the right side of my screen mean during a chess game?

You can test it yourself. During a game wait first 10 seconds for a move and on the next move wait 20 seconds. Afterwards, hover the cursor above the last 2 bars of your respective color. Will they show 10 and 20 seconds ?

Man, Thanks Andrei !!!!! that was driving me nuts. I thought it was rating each move and i could not figure out why a dumb move was rated so high. your post explains it - It wasn't high it was long (because when one is in trouble it takes longer to think of how to get out of trouble.) Thanks again.
