What happened to Bot Customization ??

There used to be an option on mobile to customize bots for 1, 2 or 3 crowns. My 4 yo son loves it so much because he can play with arrows and see the bar change.  I used the bar a lot too versus bots to see how bad my moves were against bots at my level. This morning he came to my bed to play chess on my phone as he often does, and was distressed that the customization options are gone. Now there's only the option to change time variants. Did this happen with anyone else? 

Hopefully it's not permanent and they're just testing features.  Please change back soon! 

I believe the crowns feature is being changed to something different.

Some feature changes go out so a smaller subset of members before being more widely released.

I am also missing the bot customization options. I want them back or I will not renew my subscription.

Posting 2 weeks after the OP. I am also missing this feature. During an active session, I finished a game using the arrows (one crown option) and went to play another bot, but this feature was gone. So, "Select" members are being denied this feature. I am a Diamond 💎 Account, so I should have everything unlocked all the time, especially for the exorbitant annual auto renewal price. This feature is one of the top reasons I subscribe.

I agree with all of your sentiments. I use the customization options, frequently, against bots. In fact, it's the main reason i subscribe at Diamond level, as well.

If this feature is removed, I will look at their competitors. (I have no idea what else is out there, but I will look)

There are still options for training, just the crown selection feature is being changed. You should have received a dialog if you have the new update:

My understanding is the plain engine may still have the options.

I don't see it. I see no customization options. There are no choices to pick which "crown level" one wants to play.

What do you mean by the "plain engine"?

The non-personality bots

I completely relate to everything said here. For me, it looks the same — the move annotations appearing immediately after each move were incredibly valuable for my learning process. Seeing right away whether a move was a mistake or a blunder helped me understand my weaknesses in real time, far better than reviewing a game afterwards.

The evaluation bar was equally important to me. Watching it shift during a game against bots gave me an intuitive feel for positional balance that I couldn't get any other way.

If these features are permanently removed, I'll unfortunately have to cancel my subscription as well. Just playing games without feedback is something you can do for free on many platforms. These learning tools were among the most valuable reasons I was paying for a premium membership in the first place. I really hope Chess.com reconsiders this decision.

The base engine (1-25) still have the the customization options, if you aren’t seeing them on the personality bots.

The Base Engine, does not, have crown choices; so, therefore does not have the Assisted Mode with arrows. The only way to have the crowns and assisted mode is to play on a Free account with locked bots.

The staff member over the update said it should. I don't currently have access to the new version, so can't test

Well if options per bot are removed I'll be canceling my subscription . I dont care for the "generic" bot
