What I hate in Chess.com

Every player has already faced waves and waves of losses and wins (you have already heard “just keep playing and blah blah blah”). Well, it is true that you will end up improving your chess abilities this way. But I do not understand why Chess.com wants you to play with opponents who are much better (or worse) than you in a row. The arranged matchings with opponents who have similar current ratings seem to be fair, but they are not. Just pay attention to the average opponent rating, highest rating, and best win of your opponents in a sequence. They are significantly higher (lower) than yours. Lastly I cannot figure out how Chess.com calculates the average opponent rating. At least, in my case, it seems to be much lower than the average of the rating of the opponents that I have played with.

Chess.com sucks... 900 rated play max ratibg...plays with over 80% accuracy against ~1700 rated . Check out this #chess game: edited moderator stumpyblitzer

i also have the same issue, i dont understand why i get paired with players -200 below my rating, if there are no eligible players in my rating pool(-50) then i am willing to wait as long as possible, sometimes i abort games when i am paired with low rated players, but after a while the abort button gets banned and am forced to play this players or else i resign, that been said i dont hate chesscom like you do

You can set your range: https://support.chess.com/article/1962-how-do-i-choose-what-rating-my-opponents-are

To my knowledge, Chess.com doesn't "calculate" the average rating of your opponents, rather uses a range of ratings (e.g. 100 below and above your rating), and then chooses the next available opponent. This range is adjustable in your settings, as mentioned above.
