Recently when trying to get in games or do puzzles I keep getting an error screen with the message "We are sorry, but our database is currently maxed out due to the unprecedented growth of chess over the last few weeks. We have doubled in traffic in a very short time and are working hard to add more capacity.". What's this?

That link provides some things the site believes has been part of the reason, but I don't believe it's completely clear why the traffic doubled in a couple of week or why it's sustained.
