just get them by doing normal things
What's up with ''achievements''?
1) Adds an element of surprise when unlocking them to give more of an incentive to play on the site I assume.
2) Both considered "awards" but these achievements are kept in a separate category from trophies when looking at your awards.
3) Simply by doing everyday things on this site. For example, I earned an achievement for solving a tactics puzzle and another for posting on a forum.
Hopefully, this helps for the time being. I'm surprised they didn't release an article or something as they released this new feature (will most likely be coming soon with more information inside).
Mobiles phones have ruined everything. What's next, chess.com gems to pay for a simul against Nakamura?
achievements are like moral boosting and achievements are other people spamming you awards
chess.com keeps adding new stuff like achievements, solo chess, four player chess. What's next, suicide chess or maybe three player chess! They should probably add 'file' chess.
Home --> Awards --> Achievements. You should be able to turn off the pop-ups. I think somewhere on the settings alerts. If you're not getting awards when you should it's because 1. your current browser is not allowing it to register 2. or you only completed the achievement but you didn't allow time for it to register such as you changed your theme or 3D, but didn't play a game in that setting. 3. You thought playing random chess in live would get you the award but it only gives you the award in daily 4. It's just screwed up, deal with it and move on with your life.
What's the point of it?
How is it different from trophies?
How do you get them?
