Where has my post gone?

Hi, I can't seem to find a post I was writing for my group's forum. I was about to post a new topic in the "Rock Rooks" group forum and decided to take a break, so after my first game analysis I clicked on "save and preview", checked it was ok and then closed the window to continue later.

However now that I'm trying to continue with it it's nowhere to be found. It's quite annoying since I spent some precious time writing and seting up the analysis on a game.

Any help would be appreciated. The topic name was "Rock Rooks 2009 fun tournament - Feedback" or something like that.

The chances are, it has vanished forever. If I were you, I'd start rewriting it - while it's still fresh in your memory.

Yes, rewriting seems like a practical aproach. But I feel more like whining about it right now.... furthermore; if I solve it the practical way I may actually save time, but the dreadfull questions "WHERE has it gone? and WY ME?" will remain unanswered and haunt me in my sleep.

not to mention I don't want to risk it happening again.

This is a separate issue and well worth addressing. Any non-trivial post is better written in an external system (e.g. Microsoft Word), saving regularly and finally importing into the forum (see noooooooooo).

Another desperate gamble: as soon as you notice you've lost what you've typed - is to look in the browser history.

To:-Omicron, this type of malfunction happened to me twice already. So dont be disheartened, you are not the only one. Was told by Administrator to check 'content' and "recent activity", but to no avail. I redo the whole synopsis while the  gist was still fresh in my mind.Welcome to the Teeth Grinding Club !!

Save and Preview is a dangerous thing....

It's safer to to just submit, and edit out any errors, IMO.

It's a good idea to keep a large notebook or loose leaf book with alot of paper.  Keep alot of pens and pencils nearby.  A ruler and stapler is good to keep nearby just in case.  Then write your posts in the notebook or looseleaf book;review the content and then post it online at the chess.com site.  That's how i do things...Just a suggestion....Just thinking outloud...

If you're capable of thinking aloud, you might want to throw in a voice recognition program (I use Dragon Naturally Speaking) to capture your thoughts before you even commit them to paper.

I was totally expecting the "Jesus saves" joke to crop up here. I am sorely disappointed.
