...That thinks it's a GOOD idea to send email solicitations with peoples user name AND PASSWORD included in the text?

Avatar of NimzoRoy

You should take this up with the management here, if that's where it's taking place.

WHO is the IDIOT? That thinks it's a GOOD idea to randomly CAPITALIZE words in a sentance? And PUT PUNCTUATION marks in the middle OF a sentance?

The cold weather and legal drugs are obviously getting to you.  Capitalization = emphasis and perhaps you should look up the meaning of punctuation.

If you have nothing to offer but STUPID remarks about subjects that don't concern you, perhaps you should burn another one and GO AWAY.

I will take a stab, you forgot your password and requested to have it resent. when the email arived you had an email which had the user name and password.

If i am correct so far keep reading

I don't see the problem a lot of online site will do the same. the email is sent to the email address which is linked to your account which I presume you are the only one who has access to it. for anyone to be able to change it they would need to already have your user id and password.

it may not be totally up to your expectations but is it worth making such a big deal about and nice polite query would have probably got a better response.

You have only been a member 1 week in which time you have played 1 game on the day you created the account. So it would seem they just sent you a promotional email to say hey here are some stuff you might like and tacked on your account details, not a big issue. again it is only going to your personal email which only yourself should have access to.

I would suggest that chess.com is not the place for you please delete the email forget the login info and go join yahoo.

This would only be an issue if someone besides you has access to your email. That being the case would beg another ironic question.

I think you may be right.  Given that I joined for the sole purpose of playing chess with my grandaughter and chess.com is unwilling to reasonably protect my password which could allow someone else to masquerade as grandpa, I'll delete my account and notify my facebook community of the problem.

I wager $10 that he stays.

Gee i would love to be in his face book community must be a real pleasure to hear his ranting.

I think the "problem" is that this guy is a bozo who isn't really used to using the internet. Plenty of sites have sent me emails with my username and passord - such as when I first registered, primarily. This guy must be out in lalaland if he thinks his "security" is being breached when he's the only recipient of the email. Wait till he finds out (if he ever does) how insecure Facebook is! LOL I won't take up conquistador's wager, but I'm almost willing to wager $10.00 this guy doesn't know the difference between a firewall and a fire hydrant, or between an anti-virus program and a flu shot.

BTW, why would anyone want to masquerade as him - esp here?

Holy crap he's bringing in reinforcements!; Get behind the castle hydrants to avoid their archers' bow-programs.
