Why don't Chess.com give out free t-shirts at 1000 points anymore?

I posted a forum "What are member points for?" and discovered that they used to give out free Chess.Com t-shirts at 1000 points. Why not anymore?

Because it's silly and unnecessary to reward people for chatting.

Stuff costs money so that's probably why they don't anymore Theres alot of members that have over 1000 MP's now.

You can still buy T-shirts and other great chess stuff  just go up to the top of the page and hover your mouse cursor over Resources you should be ok from there.

So they should give out a T-shirt to anyone who keeps their points UNDER 1000 for a year, say.

That would be interesting - we would see people post absolute crap to bump their points up to 999, and then - eerie silence from them for a year...

1. For the people who are on a long vacation and/or haven't been on chess.com for a long time and/or people who don't care about chess.com anymore

2. For most people that are basic members :)

The algorithm obviously needs a little tweaking. Must meet the following criteria:

- keeps their points UNDER 1000 for a year.

- keeps their points OVER 999 for the same year.

Art,

Why is it that when I write a reply in the post your reply box that it oes not get posted?

I keep a copy in words to repost again and at times end up with  a duplicate on my post as in the one I edited recently.

What are the specific correct dteps to post first time , withouth the annoying  repeats to posts and unseen posts already posted<

I suspect you are using the Save & preview button. That can get pretty confusing.

This is the method I use:

1. Click on Quote.

2. Reduce the amount of quoted material if it is irrelevant - replacing by "..."

3. Add my own text.

4. Press Submit your comment.

Makes sense or not?

That is very likely.

Pehaps I should use the refresh mode differently.

Is any method better than the other one in IE7?

Press f5 key on the top keyboard keys, press control+ R, use the refresh button next to the location on the top bar, which is the 2 arrows button or right click the mouse and select refresh?

That is the right method. When you submit a post, you should get an acknowledgement: "Your comment has been added".

Some of your posts have contained the text twice. Presumably that was due to accidentally pasting twice.
