Why should I pay for a good time when it's so easy to cheat?

What safe guards could you possibly have to make sure some people (who are cheaters) don't?

Are you reporting yourself? Since you claim it's so easy, you must have tried it out.

Chess.com doesn't allow discussions of cheating in the forum. Join the Cheating Forum club if you want to learn more about chess.com's anti-cheating efforts.

Chess.com takes cheating pretty seriously. We have a big team dedicated to it and we're pretty good at catching people.

I totally agree with @NelsonMoore. I appreciate it if the server is doing whatever is its best but cannot understand why it seems apparently so proud of itself regarding the policing. The only reason in the world I match vs mostly Komodo is at least I have the peace of mind of knowing who/what I am playing. Also, by matching an engine, though it moves instantly, I can just match it at twice the time control I'm actually looking for and feel I'm being treated fairly, timewise. A typical 15/10, or even 30/0 Rapid event pretty much means we're playing for about 3rd place, at best. Too often, the winner will be some character with a 5 round TPR about 600 points over their rating, and at time odds (as spent) of about 7:2 vs. the aggregate of the opponents'.

Chess.com takes cheating very seriously: apart from the video posted above, see also:

Cheaters are banned when they are detected. There are various tools that are used to keep them from returning without permission; these tools are familiar to anyone who has run an online forum.

However, discussions of cheating in the main forum is not permitted, as it tends to become very heated and result in lots of public accusations, many of which are completely unfounded; I am therefore locking this post.

To report a suspected cheater to the Support team, please select Report Abuse under the Help menu, or use this link: https://support.chess.com/customer/portal/emails/new. All reports are investigated, even if there is no immediate visible action.

To discuss the matter of cheating further, or to learn more about cheat detection, please join the Cheating Forum: https://www.chess.com/club/cheating-forum
