No he hasn't. Of course you can win if you lose your Queen early, but not against a serious opponent.

When I play the kids at my local chess club, I literally wipe all the Queenside pieces and pawns off the board, and start the game with only King, light-colored Bishop, Knight, Rook, and 4 pawns against the entire army. And I play as Black.

And you know what? Yes, I still win/draw some of those games.

But no tournament-level player will hang his or her Queen in the opening, and is more than capable of dispatching someone who effectively starts without a Queen with bored precision. If you cannot understand this, then you have very little understanding of real chess.

OK. OK. I was just drawing attention to the fact that he said this is not a post about proving a point and then he went on to prove a point. (or at least try)

Anyway, if his point is that you can sometimes, under certain circumstances, win when you are down a queen, then he has proven that point, as trivial and obvious as it may be.

Peace to all, and good night!
