won on time

recently I got the problem that my opponents are not playing and I win on time.

I recogniced that my points are not changing if I win a game on time. It doesn't matter if the opponent made 1 move or 5.

Is it normal that you do not get points if you win on time? and is it also normal that it is not in the statistic of winning games?

This is a great question.  My experience is that you must have X number of moves before losing on time changes your rating.

Now this has been REALLY bugging me.  I have to log on and check to see if my opponent moved.  I have to be vigilant.   But my opponent can get off to a bad start, lose on time, and I get zip.

Just tonight I aborted 3 games.  I put out a challenge.  One move was made and they went off to play live chess or logged off.  I aborted.  I want to play, not wait until next week.  I am already a member of the ICCF.   Live chess people want to play very short quick games -- filled with traps and all sorts of junk.

I would hope someone from Chess.com would come along and answer this question.

dutsh, all the games you won were "unrated" greeter games. i.e "Welcome to chess.com" - unrated

That is not true for me.  My best win was against a 1600+ player, who lost on time.   It shows in my record but I got ZERO points for that win.

you got 21 rating points for that won on time.  Check your rating after the previous game, it was 870

Hmmm ....  That is interesting.  There must have been a time lag because when it first happened my rating did not move.

Skipping the 40 greeter games, I know that you must have a certain number of moves before losing on time gains you anything.  I would like to know what that number is ...

I'm pretty sure it's 4 moves each side although I couldn't find that written anywhere.
