Won't let me move pieces to desired place

Hi all,

in my last couple of games, I've had a problem moving pieces to their desired positions. Whenever I've tried to move a piece, it just goes back to its original position. Yes, the moves I'm making are completely legal. Why is this happening? How can I fix it?

I've lost 3 games because of this now

You are new.

What are you using? An app? A browser?

Perhaps it would help if we showed a position from your game and you said what you were trying to do:

I'm using google chrome.

For example, above, I'm trying to move the knight from b1 to c3, but it's not letting me

In the position you showed, black can't move his knight because his king is in check. The only legal moves are 1) to take the bishop with the rook or 2) to interpose the pawn on g6.

It's not much of a choice. Whatever he does, black would get checkmated on the next move.

I'm having the same problem (I've had it for ages) It's very very very annoying. I have to keep refreshing the page.

Please don't tell me it's my browser .. it does the same with Chrome, and Firefox.

This problem still exists.  Typically when I'm in a great position and about to win.   Just happened in my game with Mariadonzella a few minutes ago.  My ID is FrankJamesD

I suspect it is that some people have identified a glitch so they don't; lose.  Never happens when the other guy is winning.

Your opponent can't impact your connection or client. The clients never directly connect so your opponent doesn't have access to your connection details.

Hey, Frank, what move did that happen on and what were you trying to do? I want to see if I can explain what happened.

I've been having this same problem as well.  It worked fine before?

FrankJamesD

Whatever it was, it resolved quite a while ago.

Thanks!

On move 35, I couldn't move my rook (f4) and eventually lost on time.

This is happening to me when i try to move a piece. It wont let me make the move even when it is legal and possible.  There is no reason for it not to let me  do it and makes it hard to continue the game.

I am playing against computerCan only move backwards
=Nelson,1300. Happens very seldom. Now it's my turn I see all my pieces are only allowed to move sideways or backwards but not forward. I.e. you can see my "yellow" knight is only allowed to rows 4 and 3 but not  6 or 7 (if I manage to add image)

(continued) actually, it only allows 2 destinations instead of the 8 possible ones.

That Bishop on b4 is attacking your King. You must take care of that threat before anything else can be done!

Only those two destinations are possible, because the black bishop on b4 is giving check.  Nc3 would block the check, or Nxb4 would capture the attacker, but there is no other move that the knight can possibly make, since no other move by that knight would negate the threat to your King.
