hi zen same thing happend to me i think the site went down ikn the live end
Your live chess server is not responding, but I can post!

Definitely went down - I was booted from live chess, couldn't reconnect, can ping live.chess.com, but browsing directly to where I was gets me 504 bad gateway.
There are currently "0 players online" in live chess, so someone tripped over a cord, or somesuch similar metaphor.

why can't they turn off the clock when they lose connection. this is the 2nd time this has happened to me.

Yeah, I went to the Live Chess entrance page and it says 0 players are online, so I guess it went down. As long as the admins or code neutralizes the games so we don't get docked for it (which I assume is the case, hopefully always), I understand - it happens.

I wouldn't consider this spam, in the help and support forum...
Anyway, how about a direct link to ticket creation? All I can seem to locate is Help & Support with a ton of links to FAQs ... I know I did it before from that page, but cannot find it now.
I think it's not out of bounds to ask what happens in such cases:
- Do in progress games get cancelled?
- Do in progress tournaments get cancelled?

Do in progress games get cancelled? Do in progress tournaments get cancelled?I agree. I don't know why it's considered spam when I'm more of a victim here than a perp. I would like the answers too. I think its reasonable we should know what happens in those cases. Next time, to avoid getting in trouble (for what I don't know), I will post a ticket. Is that required to get my points reinstated or not?
It's spam when you post the same complaint numerous times, as you did in the forums. Mod.

OK, it looks like they pulled the game. So I guess a ticket is unnecessary. Next time that happens I'll just wait for the server to come online and if the game isn't pulled, file a ticket.
But if such an outage is brief, how does anyone know if a disconnect is a problem related to the site or from their end?

And one final thing: This is the 2nd time this week, so it does increase the frustration. Obviously people work hard at live chess games and it can get tense so to have the rug pulled in the middle of a game and think you'll lose the game after fighting tooth an nail, there's some adrenaline there. You can't really expect to inconvenience everyone and not have some frustration on the end-user's part.

It was clearly from Chess.com's end, because there was a server error code (assuming you just tried to navigate to the same page you were playing on again, that is) - an HTTP error code in the 500s; that could never be a problem on the client end.
Anyway, in my game - that I was losing - I was somehow awarded a draw by agreement instead of (more sensibly I think) having the game be cancelled. Anyone know how I can have the result of a game changed?

i think it is a server update or it crashed
what kind of idiot sys admin would update a server on a saturday evening?
A chess.com sys admin.
I am posting this while blocked out of your live chess server in the middle of a game while the clock is ticking on my move! I will surely lose the game through no fault of my own at this rate. I can browse all the sites and post to forums, network is fast so it's not on my end. You can check the timestamp of the post (and the one I also posted to Live chess) to see which game is impacted. I would appreciate it if you withdraw the game so I am not penalized.
