How to claim a draw for 50 move rule or 3-time repetition? |

SolutionThe use of the "Draw" button in Live chess is to offer your opponent a draw when you offer it, your opponent can then accept or decline, however, in the instance of 3 Fold Repetition, you can use the "Draw" button to "Claim By Repetition" without your opponent having an option to accept or decline. Once your opponent has made his/her 3rd repetitive move, make your move then click on the draw button. This gives you the game by repetition.
In correspondance chess, once your opponent has made 3 moves the same (or 50 move rule), make your move, then submit the move, go back into the same game. Just below the notations box there will be text for you to click on that says "claim game".
Click on that to claim the draw by repetition.http://support.chess.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=141
So i just played a game of blitz and i admit i was losing on material but i saw a 3 fold repetition, forced draw line and played for it and got the same position 3 times, yet there was no draw. Why?
Instead I lost on time when I should have drawn. Why?
