its not that big of a deal really, i find another match in a split second, but itd be nice to get some extra points but that wouldnt be earning them by skill

Do you think players should lose points for aborting games before making a move? why should one be on live chess only to abort? a player who resigns a game should lose less points than one who simply aborts. if the system pairs you for a match it means you have made yourself available to play. its better not to log in in the first place
