I like that idea. I would probably never find the time to play in one, but if I could, I definitely would. Good suggestion.
About live chess tournaments

There has been talk among the chess.com team about trying to get LIVE tournaments up and running at sometime in the future .Hopefully it will become a reality eventually:)

at all times there will be thousands of players who play live chess... so y dont u conduct live tournaments everyday for every few hours on rating based... this makes this site more interesting and make more fun with tournaments...
