How much do you think the average person drinks when they drink, exactly?

Nah. We're not talking doing keg stands at a frat party drinking. More like a glass of wine or beer or two over an entire evening.

Yeah, I know. People are just exaggerating, like it's a really good thing.

I don't like that.

Bad ideas because through this, you can become notorious and our society dislikes such kind of persons. We should always do good and spend a good life. Dissertation writing services

In national and international events the ECF has the capacity to do random drugs tests as required by the IOC should chess ever become a sport.

I have a friend of similar standard who I often play chess with at the pub, usually several games over the course of an afternoon (less often than we used to, since we no longer live close to one another). He reckons that I am marginally stronger than him and I will usually win the first couple of games, especially if playing white. By the third game, I am starting to make blunders. By the sixth, I am reliably losing.

Based on this, and my own experience online, I think it's safe to say that while one or maybe two beers will not seriously dent my play, more than that sees a major depreciation.

why is everyone drinking and smoking nowdays?

Because people always have been drinking and smoking since the invention of drinking and smoking?

True.

But, like, it's bad

In chess, you always have to give up a square to get a square, and often life is the same way. While smoking and drinking is generally a net negative, it doesn't mean it's all negative.

For example, nicotine is heavily used in endurance sports. As a stimulant, it both increases endurance and decreases fatigue. They usually use smokeless varieties, since smoking can affect lung capacity, but I often wonder if vaping will become popular.

Alcohol decreases inhibitions. A small amount of alcohol increases creativity, because it makes you more willing to try things that you would normally dismiss. It also helps with focus for ADHD for some people, but the mechanism as to why is somewhat unclear.

Yeah, but your liver goes *splat*

And your life decreases.

If you're worried about your liver, excessive alcohol consumption is only part of the battle. Excessive sugar consumption is just as bad for your liver; The only difference is that sugar doesn't give your brain a buzz.

Table sugar is roughly half glucose and half fructose. The glucose is OK for your liver, but the fructose is what can damage your liver. If you're interested in the details, here are two videos by Dr. Robert Lustig:

At least when I eat sugar I don't get drunk.

Good for your brain, but still just as bad for your liver, I'm afraid...

I'm sure alcohol is worse. It's basically "adult candy," I guess.

Because normal sugar can't cut it.

You are dumb to even think of suck things tbh, drunk = bad, drunk = dumb, and the people who try drugs and alcohol are simply people who want to run off the cliff.
