Are “Hand & Brain” games considered outside assistance?

For those of you who don’t know, “hand & brain” games are games where a partner tells you the piece they think you should move (ex: bishop) and you need to figure out the best move that involves a bishop.

I wanted to sign up with a friend of mine to SimplyDevina’s tournament going on later today, but we missed out cause neither of us are Twitch affiliates, so we figured we’d play our own games. My friend is around 1300 and I’m about 1050-1100.

I was wondering whether these “hand & brain” games could be considered outside assistance? As far as my understanding goes, it’d be cheating only if the 1300 plays the brain’s role, but not the other way around; correct me if I’m wrong!
