average opponent score

Could anybody explain how the average opponent score is calculated? I have the feeling that the calculation only takes an X number of latest games into consideration.

Thanks, Onno

It definately takes ALL your games into count. I think.

It takes all of your games within the past 90 days into consideration.

Timeout percentage is calculated for the last 90 days only, but there's no mention of it in Average Opponent.

I think it uses all of your games.

@adude23, I think you're right. It seems a bit strange though. Suppose you have a "chess sabbatical" for 3 months, that would give you a very skew average.

Their own rating doesn't go on sabatical.  Why should their average opposition be reset?  Even if the person hasn't played for a while, it's still useful to know if they got their rating by mostly playing people of the same or higher ability as their rating or if they built it up with opponents averaging a couple hundred points lower.

My av. opp rating shot up from ~1780 to 1849 without any new game being decided. I too feel all games are not being considered for avg opp rating. Something is fishy here.

non rated games are taken into consideration for this rating? I usually play stronger opponents, but my girlfriend made an account on the site and we play all the time. She is even newer than I am in chess so, will her rating lower my avg. opp stat even though we are playing non rated games now?
