Awesome, welcome to the world of chess!
I suggest you get the book Winning Chess Strategies by Yasser Seirawan. This book is very well written, and is easy to follow for a beginner. It will give you some excellent basics to build upon.
Also, play lots of games and don't worry about losing. You will lose often, we all do. Just focus on having fun and learning the game. This site has some good people.
Happy learning!
I've become very intrested in chess over the past month and find it difficult for improvement. I've probably watched 10 hours of instructional videos mainly on fundamentals and openings (from the chess.com channel on youtube). I feel like im falling into a black hole of knowledge and finding it hard to improve, especially in the mid game to late game. Basically im looking for any tips and advice to give someone that's new to chess and any particular things I should practice/ videos I should watch etc.
